Description

Magnox Ltd are responsible for the safe and secure clean-up of twelve nuclear sites and operation of one hydro-electric plant, managing sites through their lifecycles, overseeing all aspects of operation, defuelling and decommissioning. Their mission is to safely and securely deliver the twelve sites to closure safely, securely and predictably, with due regard for the environment; to the satisfaction of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority; and in the long-term interests of the organisation, the employees, the local communities and their supply chain partners. Magnox are helping to secure Britain’s nuclear legacy into an environmental one for future generations.

We are now seeking a new Programmes Director, reporting into our COO.  This is a new role that will be working with the Operations Executive team to drive programme performance across the Magnox business.  This includes developing and directing programmes for decommissioning and waste management.  Working closely with the Nuclear Operations Director and the Commercial Director to matrix deliver the Magnox mission, the role will have significant stakeholder engagement, ensuring that sanction processes are effectively managed to deliver efficient and effective resource utilisation.

You will bring comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of radioactive and waste management principles and significant project delivery experience within a nuclear or highly regulated industry. The ability to build long term relationships with key stakeholders based on openness and transparency is critical whilst leading large geographically dispersed teams effectively.  You will work in a collaborative manner, building effective relationships with board colleagues, the executive team, and across the organisation with an open and personable style.
